Musicians

Fine Tune Music selects talent to fit our customers’ needs and custom-fits musicians with venues or events…we fine tune the deal, so to speak! If you don’t have a band and want to work as a pick-up or fill-in artist, we do keep a pool of players at our fingertips for such opportunities.

Whether you have a working act as a soloist, duo, trio, or full band or prefer pick-up and fill-in work, your first step is to complete the Musician’s Application. We’ll review your profile and be in touch with feedback, typically within 48 hours. If we select you to join us, you’ll be asked to sign a simple agreement and provide a W9 form and we can then begin to offer you as an option to our customers.

The more we know about who you are and what you offer, the better we can present you to our customers. So please provide video links and as much detail as possible on your application. We can’t market you if we don’t understand what you do!

There are a few keys to success when working with Fine Tune Music. Here are some tips:

Be good at what you do and be able to show that.

The best quality videos lead to the best booking opportunities. These are how I will show customers what you offer and are the most important element in their decision to hire you.

Be committed to professional conduct.

This means working with Fine Tune Music as well as the venue to honor any specific requirements for things like how to dress, alcohol consumption, and equipment load-out. Clear, cooperative communication will get you to the top of our list when we are choosing who to present to our best customers. Maintaining a great working relationship with the venues we work with will get you future opportunities.

Be up to date on finances.

Many times, Fine Tune Music will collect the funds for performances and pass them through to you in a timely manner. Other times, you’ll receive payment directly from the venue. In these cases, we’ll invoice you monthly for our booking fees. Getting those fees paid according to the invoice payment terms will keep you in good standing with us.

Be a team player.

If we have placed you with a venue, you are considered our client and the venue is our customer. Should the venue request additional bookings, we prefer you either ask them to handle that through us, your booking agent. If you do prefer to lock in dates in the moment, we prefer you share that information with us and consider those dates subject to a booking fee. Of course, any performances you book with venues outside of our customer base are not subject to this policy. We only expect you to consider our customers…well…ours and to honor the match we’ve made between you.

Play well with others.

If we connect you with other musicians for fill-in, pick-up, or custom-created work, we want to receive great feedback regarding how awesome you were to work with. Please honor the culture of any band you sit in with, any venue you perform at, and any rehearsal/preparation the opportunity calls for. We get that not every interaction will be smooth and sometimes situations can be stressful. If you’re one of those who can rise above and be someone who navigate those moments with composure and professionalism, you’ll be at the top of our list for the next opportunity!

Thanks for your interest! Let’s get the ball rolling!
